Super Easy Crochet Rose

Crochet roses are as versatile as they are attractive. So why not try making this easy crochet rose and fill your life with glorious colour all year round.

Materials

Scrap yarn, any size, any colour.
Hook (Size for yarn)
Scissors
Yarn Needle

Stitch Guide

Ch: Chain
Sk: Skip Number of stitches indicated
SC: Single Crochet
DC: Double Crochet

Gauge

Not important for this pattern. Just enjoy!

Instructions

Foundation Row: Ch 84
Row 1: DC in 6th chain from hook, * Ch1, sk 2 st, DC, Ch2, Dc in same stitch* repeat from * to * until end (53DC + turning stitches, 27 ch2 spaces)
Row 2: Ch1, turn, SC into last DC of previous row, * 8DC into Ch2 space, SC into Ch1 space* repeat from * to * until end SC into 3rd chain from DC on 2nd row (See Photo 6)(216DC, 28SC)
Cut a long tail (30cm) for sewing.

Finishing

Using yarn needle.
Roll first 8DC petal to form a bud then sew a few stitches to hold. Working in a spiral (wrapping the work around itself, from bud) and using the chain row, sew every couple of stitches to the bud and continue working outward. Add some extra stitches (just for luck) then trim ends and you’re done.

There you have it! This is a very simple crochet rose which can be used for any purpose you like. I use them for bouquets/arrangements, key rings, bag charms, bookmarks, hair clips and lots more but don’t let that limit you.
